St. Mary’s 18 Years Of Fund Raising Through 100 Club.

St. Mary’s in Barnstable is almost halfway through its eighteenth year running its fantastic 100 Club.

“We would recommend a 100 club as a fun way of raising money for CAFOD,” says Joan Scott, a regular member who wrote in to us recently.

“The membership fee for the year is £16, and when all the money has come in, we send half to CAFOD. This year we sent off £1000 in February.”

It’s a great chance for the members to make some funds for themselves too. “The rest of the money is paid out in prizes once a month, in prizes totalling £75.”

The club has grown over the years, now reaching a fantastic 120 members. Anyone can join, as Rupert the dog and Sante the cat will agree! “Both are fully paid up members!” says Joan. “Sante was very lucky recently and won a £5 prize. I’m not sure what he spent it on! Poor Rupert hasn’t yet had the joy of winning. It’s just as well he’s a patient sort of chap!”
