“Wall to wall sunshine greeted the guests , after a week of grey damp skies; at the CAFOD Tea Afternoon at Bideford on Saturday 31st May.

We had lots of people from Torrington and Bideford Catholic Churches, but also many neighbours and people from various other groups.

CakesThe cake stall was heaving with goodies. There was a well-stocked craft stall with everything made by CAFOD supporters as well as Bric-a-brac, plants, books and a raffle.

We made £640 (with possibly more donations expected) and my sister Cath travelled all the way from the north of Scotland to help.

The garden looked very pretty and people lingered in the sun chatting, often to folk they had never met before.

BuntingWe had bunting everywhere including CAFOD bunting at the front of the house and also some posters that explained what CAFOD does, as many did not know the charity previously.

We opened a bottle of wine that evening after supper and slumped into chairs and left the clearing up till the next day!!!”

Thank you Linda for this lovely report of a beautiful day in Bideford.
