Parishoners at St Agatha’s Church, Dawlish came up with a thirst quenching fundraiser this Lent:
“During March and April this year, we asked for donations of bottles of wine to fill our wheelbarrow.
We then asked for £5 in an envelope with the person’s name, address and contact details. This was put into a box and then one envelope pulled out as the winner on Palm Sunday.
The winner won the whole contents of the wheel barrow, which was 30 bottles of wine. What a Happy Easter they had! We also managed to raise £150 for CAFOD in the process”.
What a great idea! Thanks for the lovely report Marcia.
