Last month, we spoke to on one of our amazing volunteers, Brian Bailey about his thrilling plan to skydive from 15,000ft in celebration of his seventieth year, all in aid of CAFOD’s Lent appeal. Now, only two days before he jumps, he has raised over £1,750 and received messages of support from all over the country.
When I originally caught up with Brian, he explained to me and alongside his wife Teresa, he has been volunteering for CAFOD for many years and they help to lead their parish CAFOD group in Abbey Road, Torquay.
“It was now or never; I wanted to celebrate my birthday by doing something I have never tried before and I also wanted to celebrate the work that CAFOD is doing for people across the world so I thought I would combine the two.”

Brian originally set a target of raising £1,000 and this was quickly reached. Now, only two days before he jumps, he has raised an amazing £1,770.59 only £229.41 short of his new target.
We would like to thank Brian and all his supporters and we wish him the best of luck for his skydive.
