CAFOD Plymouth’s Community Participation Coordinator, Simon Giarchi reaches two milestones on the same day: 10 years at CAFOD and the arrival of his second child.
Simon writes:”It’s amazing that our new baby arrived on the exact day as my 10th anniversary of working at CAFOD!!! Double blessings to celebrate together on the 8th May!
The past 10 years have been truly beautiful and momentous for me. In 2006 not only did I start at CAFOD but I met my beautiful wife too, I could never have thought that a year could bring such joy and grace into my life!
Whilst working at CAFOD, I’ve been particularly inspired by working with all of our amazing volunteers, their communities, diocesan clergy and staff as well as visiting and meeting so many of our inspirational international partners from around the world! Together we have been on an amazing journey of solidarity, working hard with the poorest communities around the world to transform lives and build a fairer world so that all can flourish and live life to the full.
I’m looking forward to working with all our volunteers, supporters, diocesan clergy & staff our international partners over the next 10 years, to continue to help create God’s kingdom of justice here on earth!
The Arrival of Baby Giarchi
Simon writes: “Just after midnight on 8th May our beautiful baby boy was born. My wife Jen and I couldn’t be happier and neither can his three and half year old brother Henri, who can’t wait to look after and play with his younger brother”
Simon will be taking 12 weeks of Shared Parental Leave to support his wife, the new arrival and Henri, returning to work at the beginning of August.
“Whilst I’m pleased to be taking the time off I will miss you all and hope your CAFOD plans for the summer work brilliantly for you, your parishes and our partners as well as their communities around the world”
During Simon’s Shared Parental Leave volunteers and supporters will be assisted by CAFOD’s Supporter Care Team and Abigail McMillan, CAFOD’s Community Participation Manager for SW and Wales, you can contact them by email :firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone numbers: 0303 303 3030.
Huge thanks from Simon for everyone’s inspirational support over the years!
