Plants on the way to CAFOD Stall

St. Mary and St. George have raised over £400 since lent this year.  Recently they have done a sponsored slim, plant stall and are hoping to start a fruit and veg box over summer, all in aid of CAFOD.

I am sure all reading this like ourselves are inspired by this fantastic fundraising.  So why not get involved yourself,  are you or do you know any budding slimmer’s or people with green fingers or other creative talents together you can make a real difference to lives of our sisters and brothers around the world and put your faith into action. It does not need to be anything complicated a simple stall at the back of church with an honhesty box will do.

St Nick’s Squirming Worms, Queen Bees & Vegetable Gardens World Gifts

Over £250 worth of World Gifts from St Nicholas School, Exeter.

Over £250 worth of World Gifts from St Nicholas School, Exeter.

Chris Wightman, CAFOD Exeter’s Deanery Coordinator, was happy to accept on behalf  of CAFOD over £250 worth of World Gifts from St Nicholas School, Exeter. Each class raised money as part of their Advent commitment and chose gifts from the World Gifts catalogue, ranging from Squirming Worms to Queen Bees and Vegetable Gardens, and presented them to the crib in their final Advent Liturgy Service. Chris said “The moving service reflected the kindness and generosity of the staff and pupils at St. Nicholas School and their support for CAFOD across the whole year, and it was very encouraging to see that the true spirit of Christmas is alive, well, and understood by the young people at the school.”

We would like to thank St Nicholas School for their fantastic fundraising with World Gifts and for their truly inspirational support for CAFOD.
